Don’t Care About The Outcome
I’ve come to realize that once you are putting your full efforts into something, the healthiest and best way to do it is to work without caring about the outcome. I used to be very headstrong in trying to make my band successful. I worked hard, but I was impatient, anxious, and negative. Finally, I gave up the dream. Mind you I’m still going to be a rockstar, but I don’t care about the outcome. I’m happy with my future, whatever it may be. I plan to write a book in the near future. Do I care if it gets into the New York Time’s Best Seller’s List? No. Will that hinder me from working as best as I can to write and promote a good book? No. And that’s the way to do it.
I’m going to be successful. Success is being happy with the outcome. Whether I’m playing my guitar in front of 50 people or 50,000 people, I’m happy. So I’m successful everyday. What’s the outcome of my musical career going to be? I don’t care, but I’m going to work as hard as I can to make the best it can be. Who can argue with that? Give the ending up to a higher power. Don’t hold onto it. Will I be famous? I don’t care, all I know is that I’ll be smiling whether I am or not.
